How to configure CS-Cart to work with CloudFlare and SSL

The free CloudFlare account that comes with every Hostlantern shared and semi-dedicated hosting plan does not support SSL. Fortunately, you can still use a free CloudFlare account with your SSL certificate.

CloudFlare works via a CNAME record for www. This means that www.domain.com is redirected to CloudFlare’s servers, but domain.com (without www) by default is not. Since the SSL certificates we offer are valid for both yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com, there is no problem to redirect your HTTP traffic to CloudFlare and your HTTPS traffic to the server hosting your account and SSL.

To make the necessary changes for your CS-Cart application, you need to edit the config.local.php file located in the CS-Cart installation folder. You need to modify the following line and set it without www for your domain (make sure you replace domain.com with your actual domain name):

Please note that in case you want to have your SSL certificate work via www.domain.com and still use CloudFlare's services, the only solution is to upgrade your CloudFlare account to Plus. You can do this from the Order section of your Hostlantern User Area.
