FTP upload and download speed depends mainly on the client’s connection to the server. This may be affected by multiple network factors such as hop count and local connectivity. Also there are other factors which may affect the speed:
- the number of clients that currently are using the FTP service
- the input/output write capability of the server hard drives
Our experience shows that in many cases the connection to your FTP account may be affected by a temporary connectivity issue. If this is only a one-time problem, you should try re-uploading your files in a few hours or do this using different Internet connection on your end.
Also you may try to switch the connection mode of your FTP client from Active to Passive. You can check our FTP clients tutorial for more information on how to configure your FTP client.
