How to reduce the number of articles displayed on Joomla 1.5 front page

To change the number of articles displayed on the front page of your Joomla 1.5 website, go to the Joomla admin area > Menus > Main menu. Then select the default menu entry and click the Edit button.

On the right part of the page you will notice the "Parameters (Basic)" tab. The settings you should change areleading and Intro. The "Leading" property displays the number of pages that are stretched and showed at the top of your page. Usually, this is set to 1. The "Intro" field sets the number of other articles displayed after the Leading article.

For example, if you want to have one main article(newest) and another two under it, you should set "Leading" to 1 and "Intro" to 3.

Once you are done with the changes, press the "Save" button and clear the cache of your Joomla application to see the new article layout on your frontpage.
