What does the transfer / upgrade from shared server to Cloud VPS include?

When Hostlantern transfers a client from a shared server to a Cloud VPS, these steps are followed:

1. Backing up the whole user's account with all of its data, including mails and databases and files;

2. Transferring the backup to the new Cloud VPS;

3. Restoring the backup on the Cloud VPS preserving all permissions / ownership / settings intact;

4. Re-directing the domain from the shared server to the Cloud VPS.

The transfer does not require any client's actions. However the client should be aware that:

1. There is a DNS propagation of around 24 hours. During this time some visitors may resolve the domain to the shared server. Changes during the DNS propagation might be lost.

2. The server's address has been changed and the client has to update it in case it is being used for ftp or cPanel access.
