How to change the language for cPanel

By default all Siteground accounts come with the English language pack. We don't recommend changing the language pack for cPanel because this may cause confusion.

However, if you need to change it you can do so by creating a text file .lang in your home directory. This file should contain any of the following languages which we support:

arabic, bengali, chinese, english, french-utf8, german-utf8, hindi, japanese, portuguese-utf8, russian, spanish-utf8

For example, if you'd like your cPanel to be in French, create a file .lang in your home directory and write in the file only:

french-utf8

In order to revert the changes and have English as the default language, simply remove the file .lang.

cPanel is easy to work with when you have the right host to support you. If you need a reliable partner to help you manage your website with cPanel, check out our cPanel hosting services!
