How to put my Joomla website offline?

When making core changes to your Joomla, it is a good idea to put your website offline to avoid any problems while making the changes.

You can easily put your website offline from the Joomla admin area > Site > Global Configuration > Site Settings. Next to Site Offline click Yes. In the Offline Message box you can modify the message which your visitors will see while your website is offline. Click the Save button to save the change and put your website offline.

Putting your website offline will not block the access to your Joomla admin area. You can put your website back online by selecting No next to Site Offline in the Global Configuration menu.

Joomla is a powerful software that is easy to work with once you have the right host to support you. Before you lose any more time with the wrong host, check out the SiteGround Joomla hosting offer.
